With most gyms being closed right now due to COVID 19, it’s been hard for a lot of people to be motivated to get a workout in, so we have put together some workouts you can do at home, whether you have 5 minutes, or an hour. Exercise is vital for the body and mind to stay healthy, but it helps the immune system, which everyone can use a boost of that right now, so get moving!

Yoga- If you have a yoga studio you usually go to, they are probably offering live classes through instagram, Facebook, or on their website. If not, there are plenty of Youtube yoga classes that are great for anyone from beginner to more advanced yogis. If you have never tried yoga, this may be the perfect time to give it a try, and it will help calm the mind as well as the body.

Walk or Run- Setting side time every day for a walk or a run is not only good for the body, but the mind as well. In these unknown times, if you have been a little stressed, you are not alone, and may not even realize how much you needed that quick 10 minute walk to clear the mind and slow down a little. While out, try not to think about work, kids, or any other stressors at home, just focus on the natural spring beauty around you.

Make a Plan- This can be fun, and for some people easier to stick to than just trying to move your body every day. Write out either the week, or whole month, and every day, or every other day, make a workout plan. If you only have 5 minutes a day, pick 5 things to do, but try and shoot for around 10, and pick your favorite things that get your body moving, and make you feel stronger. You can focus on certain parts of the body for each day and go from there, or do a little of everything for a full-body workout. There are also plenty of pre-made workout plans online or on Pinterest you can save and print out to use.

Weights- Get the dust off those weights in the closet and start using them. If you don’t have any, you can check at a local thrift store, or any big name store with workout equipment. You can find weight workouts on Youtube here.

Get the Kids- Getting the kids involved is a great way for them to let out some energy, and it makes it fun for the family. Since kids are out of school and missing P.E. class, ask them what their favorite part of the class was, and start doing those every day, if you are not already. Here are some fun workout ideas on Youtube, you can start at the top and go through them, so its always fun and exciting.

Challenge- Pick a friend, or a few, and start a challenge. There are so many to chose from, so find one you all enjoy and will stick to. Some ideas are: planks, squats, crunches, pushups, and so much more. There are so many online, and on Pinterest, so go find a plan, send it out to everyone, and text every day to the others, so you stay accountable.

We hope this has given you some fun ideas to keep you motivated.
