Its camping season here in Central Oregon! Whether you RV or tent camp, or just want a fun day spot to relax at, here’s some places we recommend you check out:
-Devil’s Lake- About 28 miles from Bend, right off the Cascade Lakes National Scenic Byway, you can’t miss Devil’s Lake! Its crystal clear water looks so blue you want to dive right in. There is a $5 day use fee, but does not cost extra to camp there. The camp spots are first come, first serve, so go early. There are also plenty of hiking trails in the area. Read more here.
-Lava Lake Campground- About 38 miles from Bend, also off the Cascade Lakes National Scenic Byway. Beautiful lake, with reservable camp spots. Showers and toilets available, as well as RV hookups. Check out their site and reserve your spot here.
-Cultus Lake Resort- 40 miles from Bend, off Cascade Lakes National Scenic Byway, Cultus Lake is a natural lake in Deschutes County. Formed by a glacier, it is located in the high Cascade Range in the Deschutes National Forest. This lake is a traditional spot for Central Oregon Locals. There’s are camp spots on the lake, as well as cabins you can rent out, than can sleep many people. There’s a restaurant and store available to the public. Read more, or reserve your spot here.
-Wickiup Reservoir- About 17 miles from La Pine, Wickiup Reservoir is a beautiful place to camp, or just hang out for the day, as there are many secluded spots all around the lake. You can find a spot in the designated campsite area, or find a more private spot somewhere else, no matter where you end up, the views will not disappoint! You can boat, kayak, paddle board, or just swim. Learn more about the lake here.

Be sure to check on fire regulations for camping spots before heading out. If you are allowed a camp fire, please make sure they are completely out before heading home, it has already been a very dry season in Central Oregon.
