It’s hard to believe it, but Father’s Day is this weekend! If you are not sure what to get dad or what to do with dad on his day that’s out of the usual things, we’ve got you covered with some extra special and different gift ideas, as well as some fun ideas to take him and the whole family to do.
Subscription Box- There are so many box ideas that you can personalize to dad’s specific hobbies and needs. Some ideas are: grooming box, cooking and food, sports, tools, cigars, books, beer, and more. Some websites online you can check out are Crate Joy, and Man Crates.
Personalized Basket- This is a fun one because you can grab a bunch of goodies dad loves and make a personalized basket for him. You can fill it with: his favorite whiskey or beer, socks, BBQ sauces and grill goods, tools, gift cards to his favorite places, movies, and more.
Make a Donation- Make a donation in his name to an organization or place that has special meaning. This is one we often forget about, but can have huge impact, plus it can give him the idea to do it for others for their special days as well, and create a snowball effect.
Personalize- Now days, you can personalize just about anything, so why not have something super special made for him? You can have personalize a watch, wallet, beer mugs or whiskey glasses, or even something to hang up in the house for everyone to see, and remind him every day how much he’s loved and appreciated. Etsy is a great place to have these items made.
Plants/ Trees- If dad is into gardening, get him plants for the yard or garden, or a tree that will grow for years to come, and every time he looks outside and sees it, he will think of you.
Go Out and Do-
Picnic- Take the whole family out to dad’s favorite place in the area, or a new spot you know he will love, and bring along all of his favorite snacks and drinks.
Fishing- Here in Central Oregon, there are so many spots to fish, you can’t go wrong with any places you pick, but surprise dad with a fishing trip for the day. You can even buy all the goodies to grill up your day’s catch when you get back home for dinner.
An Experience- Remember when dad said “I would love to tour that brewery.” or “I wish I could cook better.” Make one of those happen! With COVID, a lot of these experiences are even available online, so the whole family can enjoy it together from home.
Special Place- If there’s a place in your area that he use to take you as a kid, or an old house you all use to live in, take him and share your favorite memories from those places, he will be shocked at the stuff you remember, especially if you were really young. If you have photos from back in the day at these spots, replicate them now for the photo albums for years to come!
We hope you have an extra special day with that extra special dad in your life!
Happy Father’s Day,
