Father’s Day is only a couple days away, and if you’re like most, you are shopping last minute for Dad. Here are some ideas for gifts, as well as some fun outings you can go do as a family to show how much you appreciate him on his day.
Gift Cards- This is always a great idea. Stop by their favorite store, or go online and purchase a gift card to his favorite shop. Some ideas are: his favorite restaurant or coffee spot, sporting goods store, or a hardware shop. Or you can think outside the box and get a gift certificate for a fun adventure for the summer, like rafting, standup paddle boarding, or even a sky diving or bungee jumping day.
Make something- This is always a great and the most personal gift idea. If you just have no idea where to start, go online, or check out Pinterest, there are tons of ideas, no matter what Dad is into.
Dinner- With many restaurants opening up, while keeping distance of course, you could make reservations at his favorite spot and go eat a yummy dinner together. If going out isn’t the best option, you can always call takeout and eat from Dad’s favorite spot, while watching a movie, or just sitting outside and enjoying the beautiful weather.
Fishing- Take Dad fishing for the day, most lakes and river spots around Central Oregon are back open, as long as everyone keeps their distance from each other. If you catch some fish, you can cook or grill them up for a delicious hard-earned dinner.
Lake Day- Even just relaxing by a lake or river may be all that Dad needs. You can pack a picnic, bring the sunscreen, blankets, and a book and just have a relaxing day by the water.
Go for a bike ride- Get out the bikes and go for a ride around the neighborhood. If you don’t have bikes, there are plenty of rental shops that allow you to rent for the day or more.
Head down to Sunriver- You can rent bikes in Sunriver, grab some breakfast or lunch, and take a nice cruise all around scenic Sunriver. You can stop along the way at a nice river spot, or go shopping at The Village.
If you can’t be with Dad on Father’s Day, you can always: video chat with each other, have his favorite restaurant delivered to him, or watch an old movie that you both love at the same time, and catch up on the phone afterwards.
Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there!
