School is closed, and a lot of parents are having to stay home with them, or due to businesses being closed, have to take some time off work. With the free time we will all have for a little while until things get worked out, we have some fun, at-home activities for you and the kids to occupy your days together!

Catch Up- Call relatives and friends that you don’t talk to often and see how they are doing, or if there’s anything you can send them or help with. Sometimes even just chatting with others can help take our minds off what is going on.

Read- Get lost in a good book. This might be one of the best ways to kill some time. If you have kids, read something together.

Order Online- We all want to continue to support the local businesses we love, and luckily, so many are offering online orders and some with a quick pick-up option at the store itself, so you don’t have to wait for it to be shipped. If you’re not sure if you can order online, just ask!

Buy Gift Cards- Another way you can support your favorite businesses. Buy gift cards that you can use at later dates, and they make for great gifts.

Get Outside- Go for a walk. Take the kids, dogs, and maybe see if a neighbor wants to join if they have been cooped up as well (just keep distance), also, if you have any elderly neighbors, see if you can take their dog for a walk for them.

Check out Webinars- So many businesses are offering these since people are staying home. If you have been wanting to learn something new, this is the perfect way to start, as you can do it alone and in your home. See if your favorite gym or yoga studio is offering these online courses as well.

Watch movies- Grab the family and sit down for a fun movie, and just enjoy the time together.

Breathe and Relax- Possibly the biggest and most helpful thing we can do right now. Whenever you start to get stressed, stop, take 5 deep breaths and really focus on them, the air going in and the air going out. Drop you shoulders, unclench your jaw, and relax your muscles. If you have never been a fan of meditation, now may be a great time to start, even just 5 minutes a day. Look online, there are plenty of guides to help with this.

We will get through this, and in the meantime, enjoy the time off with your loved ones, and just try to relax.
