With all the smoke in the air around the whole west coast right now, it’s best to stay inside, which means no afternoons at the park with friends, or fun bike rides with the kids. We’ve put together some fun ideas you can enjoy inside, whether you have kids or not.

Family Friendly Activities-

Movie Day/ Night- After the kids get done with school for the day, or in the evening, create a fun theater experience and watch a movie. You can make popcorn, get some candy and snacks, pull out the cozy blankets and get comfy for the show.

Build a Fort- Nothing will take you back to your childhood like building a fort. Grab the kitchen chairs, blankets and couch cushions and get building.

Bake/ Cook- We often get caught up in just cooking to feed the family, or baking for an event, but set aside some time to really enjoy this with the kids. You can pull out the cookbooks, pull up recipes on Pinterest, or even watch a fun cooking or baking show on YouTube. Allow your kids to really get involved and slowly walk through each step, really enjoying the time together. Plus, you will have some tasty goods once you’re all done. You could even bake some extras to leave on the porch for your neighbors or friends.

Craft- It’s almost fall, so you all could pick a fun fall or halloween decoration for the house or yard. If not fall decor, just make something fun! There are so many ideas on Pinterest, you will never run out of fun things you and the kids can make, day or night.

Game Night- Pull the family together after dinner one of these nights and play a fun game, or two. If you can keep a distance or wear masks, invite a couple neighbors or friends over to play with you!

Activities without Children-

Beer/ Wine Tasting- In Bend, Brewfest is a huge event in August that we unfortunately missed out on, so why not re-create it? Invite a couple friends over, keeping a distance, and sip some local craft beers or wines. You can have your local grocery store or market put together a nice variety pack, so it’s a surprise for all of you. Don’t forget the snacks!

Game Night- Have a game night with your partner, or a few friends, and grab some mildly inappropriate games you all will enjoy.

Spa Day- Possibly the most relaxing form a self care is a nice spa day, or afternoon. Start by applying a face mask and relax in a bubble bath. If you don’t have a bath tub, soak your feet. Once you get out, rinse off mask and apply your most luxurious skin care, and place some cool tea bags or cucumber sliced over your eyes, and lay down for about ten minutes. You can try some meditation during this time, but if that’s hard for you, just focusing on your breath can calm you tremendously. This is great for men and women, and you will feel like a whole new person after.

If you partake in any of these activities, take some photos, and tag us on social media, we would love to see!
