About Bend, Oregon

Once a sleepy, timber town resting in the shadows of the Cascades, Bend has grown into a sophisticated mecca for outdoor and extreme sports enthusiasts, micro-brewing aficionados, and anyone who enjoys “living in the moment.”

The Deschutes River flows through the heart of this high desert gem. If you’re floating the river, there is a state-of-the-art whitewater facility that can be adjusted for different skill levels. Also located along the banks of the Deschutes lies the Les Schwab Amphitheater, which hosts many nationally recognized acts, festivals, and gatherings. Further downstream, the Deschutes River meanders through Drake Park and the Downtown area. Downtown is filled with great restaurants, pubs, micro-breweries, and shops. Don’t miss the Farmers Markets throughout town in the summer months.

The world class mountain bike area around Phil’s Trail Complex is close and has something for everybody. Internationally-recognized as one of the best climbing areas in the world, Smith Rock is only about 30 minutes to the north. Mount Bachelor is only about 20 miles away and offers activities in both summer and winter. Set to open in 2020 Mt. Bachelor will be offering a dual-line, three-stage tour zip line that drops 1,400 vertical feet.
