Sunriver is an amazing place, and while we may be biased, we truly love this little town and feel like there’s something here for everyone. You can enjoy shopping, nature, relaxing, and more outdoor activities than you can count. Whether you are just visiting for a short time or have company coming and want to show them a good time, here are some things we love to do in Sunriver in the summer, and we know you will love as well.

Biking- With 34 miles of paved trails around Sunriver, this is a popular pastime for anyone visiting Sunriver. You can rent bikes from many places in The Village or bring your own, and head out for the day, just don’t forget your map! But if you do, there are helpful directory signs at most bike path intersections.

The Village- The Village at Sunriver has stores that everyone in the family will love, with options like toy stores, clothing, crystals, jewelry, art gallery, books and more.

Food- Some popular and delicious food spots in Sunriver are: Sunriver Brewing, Cafe Sintra, El Caporal, Carson’s American Kitchen, Blondies Pizza, Village Bar & Grill, Marcello’s Cucina Italiana.

Spa Day- Take a day to relax and get one of many relaxing services, like: manicure/pedicure, facials, massages, body treatments, or enjoy the sauna then get your hair done. Sage Springs Spa can ease any tension, and you will leave feeling like the most relaxed, beautiful version of yourself.

Nature Center/ Observatory- A visit to Sunriver is not complete without a stop at Sunriver Nature Center & Observatory! Whether you are an early bird or a night owl, there’s an activity for everyone. Located next to Lake Aspen and nestled among eight-acres of pine forest, wetland, and meadow habitats, Sunriver Nature Center & Observatory is your gateway to the natural world, distant galaxies, and everything in between! Check out their website for hours, upcoming events, and to buy tickets.

Lake Day- With so many lakes just an hour drive from Sunriver, you can’t go wrong with any you pick. The incredible views, clear waters, and fresh smell of the mountain air. Lake days in Central Oregon will leave a lasting impression the whole family will always remember. You can fish, canoe or kayak, camp, or just enjoy the lake from the bank. Be sure to check if lake area you are visiting allows overnight camping before heading out, as many have designated camp areas.

Float the Deschutes- Floating the river is a summer favorite for most that live and visit the area. You can rent a tube from many places in Sunriver or bring your own. If it’s your first time, it’s best to ask around where the best spots to get in and out are, as there are some treacherous spots in the river, you may not want to go down. Always have children and those who are not advanced swimmers wearing a life jacket, which you can rent at the same spots you get your floating tubes. Be prepared to walk a ways back to where you got in, unless you park a second car at the get-out spot.

Have fun in Sunriver this summer and enjoy all that this great town has to offer!
